Outreach of the Month
The outreach of the month for May will be the United Thank Offering (UTO). We will continue our tradition of holding the collection on Mother’s Day which is May 9th, the second Sunday of the month.
UTO provides grants to various specific programs that help the poor throughout the United States and the world. A brochure on the UTO will be posted on the outreach bulletin board. You can obtain more information by visiting United Thank Offering online at
http://www.episcopalchurch.org/uto/
Thanks to all for your generosity.
IHN Program
We would like to give special thanks to all who cooked and stayed with the families at the First Presbyterian Church last month: Lesline Bailey, Shirley Vassal, Whitney Pullen, and Becky Wilson.
The Lord's Pantry
As is our tradition for May, our focus will be on sweets - cookies, crackers and other snacks. For the poor, eating from a food pantry can be bleak. It would be nice to offer a few sweets, especially for the children. Of course, any non-perishable item is always welcome. Special thanks to all who can donate a box or two.
The last food collection was split between Homefront and the Hightstown Community Action Service Center. Homefront serves the homeless and recently homeless. CASC serves local poor in the Hightstown area. Both agencies were extremely appreciative of our donations.
NJ Food Bank
Congratulations to the youth group for their work at the New Jersey Food Bank on April 3. They were put to work stuffing envelopes for the Food Bank’s big fund raiser and also folding newsletters. They did a great job. Brianna Levy’s thievery was inspiring. Also, the youth group is donating $400 of youth group funds to the Food Bank! Way to go!!
