St. David’s Episcopal Church, of Cranbury, New Jersey, is pleased to announce the calling of its new Rector, The Reverend Karin Rasmussen Mitchell. She assumed the duties and responsibilities of that position on November 4, 2005.
Following her graduation from the Princeton Seminary, The Reverend Mitchell, served as Priest Associate, and Vicar of St. Francis’ Episcopal Church, in Dunellen, NJ.
In addition to her spiritual leadership, she brings a myriad of lay experiences, having served her communities in many capacities over the years, ranging from community organizations to the Planning Boards of Maywood and Hightstown. Along with her husband David, her college sweetheart, they have three children. Before entering the priesthood, she was an active member of St. David’s since 1987, serving on the Vestry, and its Senior Warden, as well as on many other committees. As a native New Jerserian, and longtime resident of Hightstown, she is well aware of the changes and opportunities facing our community.
St. David’s is a friendly, family oriented Church with more than 120 families, ranging from singles to families with children to active seniors to nursing home residents. There are two Sunday services: a quiet 8 o’clock Communion service, and a 9:45 choral Eucharist followed by Sunday school and Adult Forums/Coffee Hour, as well as a Wednesday 9:15 Holy Communion and Healing Service. St. David’s serves the communities of Cranbury, Plainsboro, Hightstown, East and West Windsor, and the Robbinsville area, and welcomes all to worship with us.
