The Reverend Richard Joseph Wisniewski joined
St. David’s staff on June 15 , 2007 with responsibility for outreach
ministry.
“Deacon Rich” was ordained at Trinity
Cathedral, Trenton, on June 9, 2007, following three years of intensive
training at the Diocese of New Jersey School for Deacons, and several
years of discernment before that.
His sponsoring parish and spiritual home for
seventeen years was St. Peter’s in Spotswood. While there he served as a
Lay Eucharist Minister/Visitor, Lector, Choir Member, Youth Group Advisor,
Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, Chair of the Search
Committee and member of numerous other committees and groups.
In his professional life, after graduating
from Monmouth College, he was a teacher in Edison Township until joining
the executive staff of a large retail corporation. For the last sixteen
years he has worked for the Jersey City Public Schools as a computer
applications teacher and Educational Technology Coordinator.
He and his wife, Sarah, live in Marlboro
Township. Their two grandsons, stepdaughter and her husband, live in Old
Bridge. His daughter and her husband live in Washington, D.C.
As he wrote to the members of St. David’s, “I
have been very impressed by the outreach ministry at St. David’s. It is
one of the areas that I will be focusing upon. I am looking forward to
meeting all of you and working together with you to live out our Baptismal
Covenant in the world.”
