Our 2005 Pledge campaign will begin in October when we mail out the third quarter Giving Statements. Unlike the Government, who gets your pledge (i.e., tax dollars) before you get yours, we need you to take positive action, and make a pledge for 2005. Making a pledge is one way you can ”tangibilitate” your faith, to quote our Bishop once again. It is way to put our faith into action.
St. Davids get 80% of its budget from our pledgers! Less than 20% comes from fundraisers, gifts, and investment income. As you enter a cool, air conditioned Sanctuary in August, or a warm, heated one in January, remember that it is our pledge base that lets us plan for the inevitable bills!
Enjoy the summer, and if a quiet time arises, use it to pray and meditate on God’s gifts to us, and how they can be used to further His work at St. David’s.
