Bishop E. Don Taylor comes for Confirmation, renewal of wedding vows
Confirmation, the adult commitment to Christianity through the Anglican tradition of the Episcopal church, will be a part of the solemn celebration of the Eucharist by Bishop E. Don Taylor at 9:45 am service on Sunday, August 15.
At the service, Angela and David Levy, long time friends of Bishop Taylor, will be renewing their wedding vows to celebrate their latest wedding anniversary.
After the service, there will be a reception in Bishop Croes hall to celebrate the event. As August 15 is a feast of St. Mary the Virgin, Mother of our Lord, a traditional service is planned with incense, some contemporary hymns and some old 1940 hymnal favorites.
Rehearsals are planned for Saturday, August 7, and Sunday, August 8, for various participants in the parish celebration. If you plan to participate in the celebration, see Deacon Bob or Fr. Fred to find out when you are needed.
Bishop Taylor comes to us from the Episcopal Diocese of New York. He is the vicar bishop there and his ministry is highlighted by his interest in pastoral care and evangelism. He was previously Bishop of the Virgin Islands after a long career in Jamaica.
Before his clergy career, he had a career in broadcasting. Bishop Taylor comes to us today with the blessing of the Diocese of New Jersey and Bishop George E.
Councell.
