Summer looms with preparations aplenty Deacon Bob Thomas The J2A election committee held their election on June 6 and accumulated the results from the absentee ballots. They announced the results by the end of June. Officers will meet to plan next year’s activities in July and August. The library project got back into full swing on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 29. The work will continue on from 1 to 4pm each Tuesday and Thursday until the job is done. A second or third set of computer literate hands would help speed up the day we open for business next fall. The next job is completing the cataloging of the holdings. As we swing into summer clean up mode, we look at several hours reoutfitting the nursery and search for DVD’s to upgrade the TV replay capability along with our usual supply replenishment. We also need to look into repainting the nursery as part of the thorough cleaning. A number of small items will be added based on the requests last year’s teachers made at their end of the year meetings. Recruiting for staff is nearly complete. We still need one more snack helper and one adult for the nursery. We also need one or more than one person to be a librarian. See Deacon Bob and be one who will fill an empty spot The training and work for the fall begins at a 7pm meeting on Wednesday, September 8. Registration for Sunday School will begin during August. If you registered last year, you are in a CF database. All you need to do is put in the changes such new medications, new email addresses or a change in special instructions for the new year. A list by family will be out with the registration box on the table in the rear of the church. If your family is not on the list, simply fill out the complete form. An Instructed Eucharist with the entire Sunday School taking their part will kick off the new year on Sunday, September 12 at 9:45. Last year’s teachers will be honored as part of the ceremony and the new staff introduced. More information will follow next month. We thank God for all those who support the program.
